New year means getting back to the books. OPL is here to help your kids succeed in school. 

  • 🍎 REGISTRATION OPEN! Ready, Set, Kindergarten!↗ A school readiness program for children 3–4 years old, who will be entering kindergarten in 2025, and their adult co-learner. Join us for stories and child-centered learning activities over 5 weeks to get your little one ready for school. Register online today↗ for the January/February session.

📌Kids and Families↗

  • 📖 Mondays and Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm. Come join our homework club↗ and get help with reading, math, science, French, English, etc. Ages 6-12.  Drop in. Bilingual help is available. Led by United for Literacy.

  •  🎨 Saturday, January 18 at 2:00-3:00pm - Recreate a famous piece of art and Draw Like DaVinci↗. We will select a new piece of art and give you all the supplies you need! January inspiration: The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. Ages 6-12. Register online↗.

  • ✏️ Thursday, January 23 at 6:00-7:00pm - Join Junior Mathletes↗: An evening family storytime program to encourage mathematical thinking through playful learning and hands-on activities. Learn and grow together. For ages 4-7 with their adult co-learner. Drop-in program.

  • Thursday, January 16 from 3-4 pm - Calling all writers to the monthly Writers Group↗. This is a space for exploring your own unique ways of expressing yourself in a safe and supportive environment. Stories, reflections, poetry, memoirs or whatever you want to write, drop-in, you are welcome here.

  • ✈️ Tuesday, January 21 at 2:00-3:00pm - Travel to Iceland and save the plane fare with Armchair Travel↗. Enjoy photos and narration of an Icelandic cruise that included magnificent waterfalls, lava fields, geysers and stunning fjords. Presented by Lynda Buske from the Ottawa PC Users’ Group and the Orleans Photo Club. Register online↗.
