Ottawa Public Library is calling all young writers to participate in the Awesome Authors Youth Writing Contest, a fantastic opportunity to showcase your storytelling prowess and join a community brimming with creativity and passion!   

If you have a thing for storytelling, drawing or writing, 2024 might be your year to become an awesome author.

The Canada Reads short list and panel have been announced.  This popular nationwide Battle of the Books competition, seeking to find the one book every Canadian should read, is back for its 23rd edition.  Discover Canadian books and place your holds here.

💡OPL Library Tip of the Week – Saturday, January 27th is Family Literacy Day 

 Celebrate with OPL by: 

  • Attending a book launch in Manotick 

  • Baking a recipe with your kids or grand-kids; 

  • Taking photos and writing their captions; 

  • Taking photos and writing out a story; 

  • Writing and mailing a postcard; 

  • Visiting the library; 

  • Reading together!
