👩‍💻 Borrow from Other Libraries’ eBook and eAudio Collections via Overdrive/Libby! 👩‍💻

The OPL has partnered with five other Ontario public libraries (Burlington, Hamilton, Kingston Frontenac, London, and Mississauga) to provide access to each other’s OverDrive/Libby digital collections! OPL card holders may borrow, and place holds on, titles at other participating libraries. Start browsing now through the OPL Overdrive website or through the Libby mobile app by adding any of the participating libraries and signing in with your card as a visitor.


📜 April is National Poetry Month: Express your Joy through Poetry! 📜

This April, join the OPL in celebrating the 25th National Poetry Month under the chosen theme of joy! Poetry is vital! It allows us to connect with our inner selves, reflect on our experiences, and explore the human condition with depth and richness! Poetry month is a time to appreciate poetry and expand our fondness for one of the oldest literary traditions and its many iterations. Explore these staff-recommended books for adults. Happy reading! 

  • The Library is offering a variety of programs throughout the month April that will help to foster an interest in poetry and encourage its creation. Register with your library card today!

🎀 Community Arts & Crafts Swap 🎀

Calling all crafters! Celebrate Earth Day by bringing in all those art supplies you don't need and swapping them for new ones! Help divert materials from the landfill and give them a chance to be used by someone else.​ 

  • Donations may be dropped off at the Ruth E. Dickinson Branch until Friday, April 21, 2023. 

    • Items must be in new or like new condition.​​ Only arts and craft materials will be accepted​​. 

  • Join us on Earth Day Saturday, April 22 from 10 am to 12 pm for the swap! 

📙 Join the Canada-wide One eRead digital book club this April! 📙

One eRead Canada - Canada’s online, bilingual and cross-country book club - is back! This April, Canadians are invited to join people from across the country in reading Tatouine by Jean-Christophe Réhel.

As part of One eRead Canada, hundreds of Canadian libraries will be making Tatouine available as an ebook and audiobook without waitlists or holds - both in English (translated by Katherine Hastings and Peter McCambridge) and French!
