Remembrance Day schedule changes

The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes and impacts to City services for the Remembrance Day holiday on Saturday, November 11. As the day falls on a weekend, the City will have schedule impacts on Monday, November 13 as well.

Client Service Centres

  • The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Please visit ottawa.ca/311 for more information.

  • All services at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West), Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Drive), Kanata (580 Terry Fox Drive), Orleans (255 Centrum Boulevard) and the City’s Provincial Offences Court at 100 Constellation Drive will be closed.

  • The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed.

  • The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed.

Parking

  • All City parking regulations apply.

Transit Services

  • Veterans who wear their medals or uniforms during National Veterans’ Week, from Sunday, November 5 to Saturday, November 11, can ride OC Transpo buses and trains, Para Transpo vehicles and Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) buses for free. Companions accompanying veterans also ride for free.

  • At O-Train Line 1 stations, veterans and their companions can use the video-chat function at ticket machines to speak with OC Transpo representatives to get through the fare gates at no charge.

  • Two customers aged 13 or older can ride all day for $11.25 with the 2-for-1 DayPass. Kids 12 and under ride for free every day.

  • OC Transpo will maintain regular transit service during Veterans’ Week and Remembrance Day with the following detours and closures in place on Saturday, November 11:

    • Routes 5, 6, 7, 14, 18, 19 in both directions and 16 Tunney’s Pasture will be detoured due to road closures on Rideau and Elgin from 7 am to 1 pm

  • Use the OC Transpo Travel Planner to plan your trip.

  • OC Transpo will pause all service to observe two minutes of silence at 11 am, if it is safe to do so. OC Transpo and Para Transpo buses will pull over to the side of the road and all trains will be held at station platforms.

    • OC Transpo’s Customer Service Centre located at the Rideau Centre will be open on Saturday, November 11 from 12:30 pm to 9 pm

    • All other OC Transpo Customer Service Centres remain closed.

    Para Transpo

    • Para Transpo will operate on regular service. Regularly scheduled trips are not automatically cancelled. Customers who do not need their scheduled trip on November 11 should call 613-560-5000 or cancel their booking online.

    • Customers may start booking trips for Saturday, November 11 beginning Saturday, November 4 by calling 613-560-5000 or by booking online.

    • The trip reservation line will be open from 7 am until 5 pm

    • The Para trip cancellation and information line will be open from 6 am until 12:30 am

  • The Taxi Coupons line for Para Transpo customers will be closed.

  • The OC Transpo Lost and Found at Heartwood House will be closed on Saturday, November 11.

Recreation and cultural services

  • Indoor pools, arenas, as well as recreation and community centres will be open.

  • All City-operated museums will be closed on Monday, November 13.

  • The Shenkman Arts Centre will be open 8:30 am – 10:30 pm. Trinity Art Gallery will be open regular hours.

  • Ben Franklin Place will be open from 8:30 am to 8 pm. The box office at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe will be open from 5 pm to 8:30 pm on Monday, November 13. The administration office will be closed. Atrium Art Gallery will be open regular hours.

  • Arts Court, Nepean Creative Arts Centre, and Nepean Visual Arts Centre will be open regular hours.

Ottawa Public Health

Employment and Social Services

  • All four Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Monday, November 13:

    • 370 Catherine Street

    • 2339 Ogilvie Road

    • 100 Constellation Drive

    • 2020 Walkley Road

Municipal child care services

Ottawa Public Library

  • All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed on Saturday, November 11. Digital content, services, and program listings are available through the Ottawa Public Library website. Virtual programs are available on OPL’s YouTube channel. Regular hours resume on Monday, November 13.
